“DRG helps us identify different pathogens but we found that makes them
unique is their ability to find things like h-pylori and candida we often see other lab
companies miss…it is an amazing tool for us”
Dr. Diane Mueller, ND, LAc
I am a family physician practicing Functional Medicine. It turns out that the gastrointestinal tract is so important to health and standard labs don’t offer a reasonable evaluation of the health of a person’s stool. There are excellent tests available but the cost is prohibitive for the average population. The DRG test gives the best of both worlds in that it offers an expanded stool panel and is also covered by most insurance companies. I am thankful to have an affordable option to offer my complex patients that provides actionable results.

I have found the DRG lab test to be indispensable in my practice. Gut infections are a deal breaker for folks with chronic issues, and they are so often asymptomatic. With the help of DRG I have helped so many people unwind chronic health issues by treating infections that would otherwise go unfound!

DRG’s comprehensive stool testing has helped me identify occult causes of diarrhea and abdominal pain in patients who otherwise have had normal testing. Without their detailed stool culture kit, it would have been very easy to miss an important diagnosis. Additionally, the rapid turnaround time and easy to use provider portal greatly aid in the diagnostic utility of this test.

DRG Lab is a valuable component of my health consulting practice. For example:
1) Their staff are incredibly responsive whenever I inquire about samples I’ve sent to the lab.
2) Their quick turnaround times enable me to develop my client protocols quickly, which in turn enables my clients to start experiencing better health sooner.
3) Their molecular methodology (PCR) makes DRG’s lab testing much more sensitive than cultures, microscopy or serology types of testing.
In short, DRG Lab has its clients in mind through every step of the process. You can’t ask for anything more than that.

My daughter who is 22 years old had several GI issues such as bloating, and abdominal discomfort. She saw her PCP in California (where she resides) who treated her with PPI for one month. Since she did not have any improvement, he increased the dose to twice a day for another two months, which did not help her. She then saw a GI specialist who did H. Pylori test that was negative. He changed the PPI to a different one and saw her in a month. Since she had no improvement he scheduled her for a colonoscopy and upper endoscopy. I thought that this was overly invasive considering her age. When she came to NC for Christmas vacation I tested her with a GI plus kit that showed Giardia. She was treated with Flaggy for two weeks and all her symptoms subsided.
